Omaha Nebraska
Storm finished his RA title today in Omaha. No Q's for us in agility, although he did have nice runs. 7-18-10
Agility update—Q’d 2 out of 6 runs but, thankfully, they were both on the same day! QQ #72!
Danny is now a TDI® Active Outstanding Volunteer: 150 Total Documented Visits Required. Congratulations on such a wonderful therapy dog. That boy is always grinning!!!
Edmond OK
Tryn & Dayna go to Edmond for a UKI Agility weekend. Outdoors on grass! Red dog stayed home and was quite offended and upset. Tryn & Dayna entered agility, jumpers and speedstakes. They had some very nice pieces. 2 Qualifying runs in both speedstakes. Dayna fell in the jumpers run on Sunday (did not get hurt) - while Dayna was lying on the ground assessing the situation - Tryn came and laid right on her stomach and was giving kisses! Tryn was the only one to Qualify in the beginners dog 20" class of 3 and took a 1st place. Dayna indicated on Sunday they didn't bother to hang around and wait for postings as it was hot and they were ready to go! Will have to wait and see when results come out. It was a different type of venue. They did not enter the games. Focus on Saturday was a bit challenging for them. Sunday's focus was much much better. Baby dogs......... Very fun..........
Tulsa OK
Tryn showed Fri - Sun in Tulsa. Dayna indicated what a fabulous weekend they had under the A/C and had beautiful pieces all weekend. Tryn gets her 1st leg in Open Standard with a 1st place. They get their 2nd leg in Jumpers with a 1st place as well. They definitely saw that there is a "tude" showing up like her brother "Forbes" with boofing at the handler when there is a mistake made by the handler or if she is asked to do something again!!! The courses were challenging with very subtle things that bit a lot of folks on the run. The dirt was great - the facility was awesome!!! Causing one's dog to run by the teeter because they are in their path is not so good and then when you have a hard entry (switching on the flat with speed) to the weaves - well 2nd pole it was so it was an NQ run (Not Quite) but Dayna said "Dang it was fun"!!!! Sister Murphey went 3 for 6 with 1 QQ and 3 placements. Not bad for a distinguished girl!
Berryville AR
Tryn gets a double on Saturday to get both her NA and NAJ titles. In her standard run she goes clean and 19 seconds under SCT and takes 2nd place. In her jumpers run she goes clean and 14 seconds uner SCT and takes 1st place. Tryn moved into Open for Sunday and Dayna was thrilled with her performance in Open. Tryn had 2 refusals and Dayna indicated that she forgets she is a baby dog! Refusal was at the triple and then Dayna sent her on from the panel to the tire and Dayna pulled off and Tryn said okay I will come with you. In the jumpers ring on Sunday Tryn was the only 20" Open dog to qualify and brought home another blue ribbon with a clean run again. 3 clean runs - hit her poles each and every time. 3 for 4! Sister Murphey had a great weekend as well with two 2nds and a 1st and 3 for 4 as well!!!!
The Stats are in for the Top 25 listing of GRCA's LIFETIME AGILITY RANKINGS through Feb 14, 2010 - and yes, Brook, a/k/a MACH5 Wakemup Windancer Blazn Brook CDX, RE is ranked 16th with 130 QQ's. Golden Retriever News Mar-April 2010.
Congratulations Jim & Brook!!!
Kansas City MO
Tryn & Dayna showed Sunday only and Tryn brings home a 1st place ribbon with their 2nd Novice Standard leg. What a fast and furious fun jumpers - but no Q - silly knocked bar......
Team Nelsons showed Sat/Sun only. Brook QQ'd on Sunday, but couldn't make her dog walk contact on Saturday.
Nash QQ'd yesterday which felt REALLY good especially since he was hurting 2 weeks ago at the Wichita trial. He struggled with his weaves on Saturday, so no Q's on that day. A huge THANKS to everyone who cheered so loudly when he got his weaves in Standard yesterday. As Janet said yesterday ... too bad he can't just tell me, in plain English, why he can nail those weaves some times and can't seem to recognize them as an obstacle other times! We'll take those 2 in a row for sure :)
Janet & Chase & Tempi showed Saturday & Sunday only. Chase QQ’d on Saturday and Q’d in JWW on Sunday. Janet said she was a silly handler and sent her to the wrong end of the tunnel in Standard.
Tempi had only one Q over the weekend, but it was enough to finish her Open Standard title, so she is in Excellent in both JWW and Standard now. Tempi’s advice to Janet is “Run faster or get out of my way!” What a hoot!
Storm & Lori go 3 for 6 with a Double QQ on Friday. (#70) Saturday was a missed a-frame contact and an unfortunate handler error in JWW that caused on off-course. Lori indicates "Silly me, for some reason, I thought he would be able to read my mind and realize that the jump directly in front of him was NOT the jump I wanted him to take." Lori indicates Storm had a very nice Standard run Sunday, other than the dog walk contact (even after he worked so hard to get the a-frame). I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, he’s running very well. Storm finished out the weekend with a gorgeous jumpers run with a 2nd place!
Congratulations everybody!
Wichita KS
Tate won HIT at the Golden Specialty on Thursday after winning Open B with a 197. He won a runoff with supertalented neice Tempi for HIT. Congratulations to Beth & Tate!
Dixie & Susan bring home a double Q on Saturday! Congratulations to Susan & Dixie!
Danny had 3 blue's and 1 red for Friday and Saturday. Sunday he was definitely grin'n and on the up side of the A-frame and Vicki said she knew she was in trouble, and she tried to block the downside but when he flew over the top she knew they were toast..... :) missed the yellow by a good foot! :) In jumpers he was running so pretty that she said she tore out at the end and caused him to flatten his jump and drop a bar. But what fun she had running her boy!! Congratulations to Vicki & OTCH Danny!
Lori & Storm obtain their 2nd RA rally leg with a 99 on Thursday at the WGRC Specialty. Lori indicates no QQ's for them - but they are in the placements with a 2nd in Jumpers on Friday and a 1st in Jumpers on Saturday and a 1st in Standard on Sunday. Lori indicates keeping with tradition, Storm found the most disgusting thing possible when we got to Vicki’s on Thursday night and rolled in it. It seems like we get the privilege of using Vicki’s super cool raised bathtub every time we visit her. Congratulations to Lori & Storm!
Janet & Honorary Wakemup member and Griffy's littermate Chase finishes MACH4. Janet indicates "Although many would question why anyone would want to continue showing in agility after one or two or three MACH titles, I will just simply say that Chase loves it and I have loved every minute competing with her. She also finished the rest of the weekend with all qualifying runs! Janet wishes to thank the Wakemup Family for the deliciious cake!!!" Congratulations to Janet & MACH4 Chase!
Tempi wins the Novice B obedience class on Thursday at the WGRC specialty and was in a runoff with none other than Beth & Tate. Janet indicates the OTHER Bendon dog won the runoff!
Tempi & Janet have a great weekend in agility at SCAT - on Friday she qualified in Open JWW and finished her OAJ title. On Saturday Tempi had an awesome run in Excellent A JWW and got her first Q in Excellent. Tempi also qualified in Open Standard for the first time and also qualified in Open Standard on Sunday. Congratulations to Janet & Tempi!
Lori says "Forbes finally got his Novice JWW title this weekend with a 1st place! He also debuted in obedience, 1st time in for both of us and we qualified with a 192.5 out of 200. I was so happy that my obedience instructors/idols were there watching :-) No Q's for Folgers but I can still say there's not a dog I love running more and we got 5/6 held contacts." Congratulations to Lori & Forbes on both obedience and agility!
Nash managed a qualifying run for 3rd place in Standard on Friday before Linda pulled him for most of Saturday & all of Sunday's runs. He was a sore boy! Congratulations to Linda & Nash!
Brook and Jim go 6 for 6 with a 3rd place in Standard. What a showing! Congratulations to Brook & Jim!
Tryn takes a 2nd leg in Rally obedience on Friday with a 89 and 4th place. On Saturday - even though Dayna wasn't handling the conflicts too well - they decided to show and take home their 3rd qualifying leg with an 82 and their RN title. Dayna scratched Tryn on Sunday and didn't want to deal with the conflicts!!! :)
Tryn & Dayna make their AKC debut. On Friday the standard run was beautiful but one minor problem - a knocked bar - Dayna says it was her fault. In the Jumpers ring on Friday they qualify with a 95 and 4th place! On Saturday Tryn gets carried off the Standard course. In the Jumpers ring Tryn qualifies with 100 and 1st place and 4.40 yards per second. Not too bad for a debut! On Sunday Tryn qualifies in the standard ring with a 90 and a 3rd place. Tryn's jumpers run on Sunday was great except one minor issue that turned into an NQ as Dayna said it was her fault again! Tryn went around the next to last jump because Dayna kept driving forward after her switch command and then Dayna stood there rather than walking lateral to make sure she came around the stancion and therefore the good little girl back jumped the jump which NQ'd the run. The little one didn't know she hadn't Q'd! Ice cream cones on the way home!!!! Congratulations Dayna & Tryn!
Granger IA
Brook achieved 12 points of the 10 needed for MACH5 at the DMOTC agility trial in Granger, IA on Friday, 3/19. She & Jim showed lots of team work ... and she ham's it up for the applause on their victory lap. They got another QQ, plus a single Q and more points toward MACH6 the balance of the weekend. Lots of fun! Congratulations to Jim & MACH5 Brook!
Nash & Linda got one QQ and two more singles for the weekend. Linda says but for a poor handling choice/execution on Sunday, they would have have had another QQ. Linda said she was very pleased with her boy. Congratulations to Linda & Nash!
Carthage MO
UCDX UAG1 OTCh Wakemup's Dancing Honey Bee UDX8 RN NAJ OA - Honey finished her Open Agiity Title in Carthage, MO (March 14th, 2010) Aunt Janet says "Mom she is not ready to retire". They obtain her 1st Open Jumpers leg!
Congratulations to Brenda & Honey!
Garden City KS
Tempi started and finished her CD in obedience at the Garden City trial this past weekend. She did not qualify in agility, but a fellow competitor did offer to trade her two Scottish terriers for Tempi.
Janet indicates she still had a nice sit-stay on the start line, but after that her control disappeared pretty quickly! Janet chose to carry her off the course yesterday after she leapt off the top of the A-frame (remind you of any of her relatives???) Congratulations Janet & Tempi!
Lawrence KS
Tryn & Dayna made their debut in NADAC at the U2KanDu Agility trial in Lawrence on Sunday, March 14th. One day package consisted of 6 runs. 1 Jumpers, 2 Regular, 2 Tunnelers and 1 Chances. 5 qualifying rounds with a 1st place in each of those 5 runs. Chances run was the NQ - handler indicates her fault on the distance challenge. Congratulations Dayna & Tryn!
Lawrence KS
Danny & Vicki got a really nice Double Q on Thursday -- and it was more than enough points to qualify Danny for the Golden Retriever Hall of Fame!! What a great team -- word has it Vicki was absolutely beaming and we all know how Danny Boy smiles!!! Congratulations Vicki & Danny.
Forbes & Lori obtain 3rd Open Standard Leg and up the boy goes to Excellent A. Congratulations Lori & Forbes.
Tempi - Benden’s Tempestuous Storm gets her NAJ and 2 of the 3 legs needed for her standard title. Janet indicates that she ran like a "big girl" even though she isn't very big. Only 20.75 at the withers....
Congratulations Janet & Tempi.
Storm & Lori NQ”d on Thursday at the Triune trial but finished with a flourish, going 5/6 over the last three days!! Storm was running great, and had enough breath to sass Lori several times on the courses…
Congratulations Lori & Storm.
Lawrence KS
Forbes & Lori bring home a 2nd Open Standard Leg and again with a 1st place ribbon!. Congratulations Lori & Forbes! True Wakemup style.......
