Welcome to our web site! We are proud to have the opportunity to showcase the talented dogs and handlers that make up the Wakemup family. Although we are located in Kansas, our name comes from our favorite place to visit. Beautiful Lake Vermillion in Northern Minnesota is the site of Wakemup Bay, where I vacationed growing up. My parents retired there, allowing us to visit with the dogs as often as we can! While our breeding schedule is very limited (one litter every 2 or 3 years), you would never know it by the tremendous success enjoyed by this very accomplished group! We can't say enough about the wonderful people that own, love, and compete with our dogs. We hope you enjoy your visit! Her kids are seated from left to right: MACH4 Brook CDX, OTCH Honey, OTCH MACH Bounder UDX, OTCH Danny MX MXJ, MACH3 Storm CD, and Jade CD MX MXJ!! It was so much fun to have so many of us together at one time!!

Honey finished Saturday as top Golden Retriever, Top Sporting dog, and second place overall. On Sunday they made it to the final eight teams!!!! Tulsa, OK May 28-30, 2010 Tryn brings home her 1st leg in Open Standard and her 2nd leg in Jumpers!!! Check out the Brags page Berryville, AR May 8-9, 2010 Tryn brings home her NA and NAJ and a 1st leg in Open JWW! She goes 3 for 4! Top 25 listing and none other than Brook - MACH5 Wakemup Windancer Blazn Brook CDX, RE - is ranked 16th with 130 QQ's. * Kansas City MO April 23-25, 2010 Fun weekend in KC, other than the rain and dirt/mud. Storm QQ’d (#70) on Friday, and was 3 for 6 for the weekend. Chase QQ’d on Saturday and Q’d in JWW on Sunday. Silly handler sent her to the wrong end of the tunnel in Standard. Tempi had only one Q over the weekend, but it was enough to finish her Open Standard title, so she is in Excellent in both JWW and Standard now. Tempi’s advice to Janet is “Run faster or get out of my way!” What a hoot! Brook QQ'd on Sunday, but couldn't make her dog walk contact on Saturday. Nash QQ'd yesterday which felt REALLY good especially since he was hurting 2 weeks ago at the Wichita trial. He struggled with his weaves on Saturday, so no Q's on that day. A huge THANKS to everyone who cheered so loudly when he got his weaves in Standard yesterday. Tryn brings home a Q on Sunday in Novice Standard! Wichita KS April 8-11, 2010 Vicki & Danny go 4 for 6 with placements! Danny was a grinning from ear to ear. Remi & Vicki made a debut in Rally on Thursday at the WGRC Specialty and brought home a 1st place with a score of 100!!! Lori & Storm were entered in Rally at the WGRC Specialty on Thursday and won their class with a 99 for their 2nd leg toward their RA. They also bring home a 2nd in JWW on Friday. A 1st place in JWW on Saturday and a 1st in Standard on Sunday. Janet & Tempi at the Wheatland Golden Retriever Specialty won the Novice B Obedience class with a 197 and was in a runoff for HIT with Tate & Beth. Janet indicates the OTHER Benden dog won the runoff! Beth & Tate take HIT at the WGRC Specialty. Susan & Dixie QQ on Saturday! Honorary Wakemup member and Griffy's littermate Chase finishes MACH4 on Friday at SCAT. Janet & Chase also go 6 for 6! Janet & Tempi Q in Open Jumpers and get their title. Tempi ran in Excellent A JWW on Saturday and gets her first Q. She also Q'd in Open Standard for her first leg. She picks up a 2nd Open Standard leg on Saturday. Linda & Nash had a qualifying run in Standard with a 3rd place and the boy was just not moving right and Linda pulled him most of Saturday and all of Sunday. Get better NASH! Jim & Brook go 6 for 6! Lori & Forbes made their debut in the obedience ring and took a 1st place in Novice A with a 192.5!!! Lori & Forbes get their Novice Jumpers Title with a 1st place ribbon. Dayna & Tryn show in Rally and qualify on Friday with a 4th place. Qualify on Saturday for their 3rd leg and Rally Novice Title. Dayna & Tryn make their AKC debut at SCAT. Tryn Q's in Novice JWW on Friday with a 4th place. Q's in JWW on Saturday with a clean run and 1st place. Q's in Novice Standard on Sunday with a 3rd place. (Red dog sister Murphey goes 6 for 6) Granger IA Mar 12-14, 2010 Jim & Brook achieve MACH5 on Friday at Granger! Check out the page of MACH5 BROOK! Tempi - Benden’s Tempestuous Storm & Janet made their 2nd showing in AKC in Lawrence and WOW - what a showing.
